I started recording a radio show when the Coronavirus lockdown got imposed. I didn’t really have a plan but it was great fun and allowed me to reconnect with loads of people I hadn’t spoken to for a while and chat rubbish whilst playing my favorite tracks.

The show evolved quickly and I went from streaming via VLC to being asked to host on http://quarantine.fm (Thanks Fayaaz!).

I also host a chat during the show over on Discord which you can get to here: https://discord.gg/ErZd4UU

You can find my most recent shows below and the others over on the Archive page.

UK V – Me and Lindsey play fun music

In this show I was joined by actual DJ and all round good egg Lindsey Tatler! She made a fantastic co-host as we swung wildly around genres with little to no planning or preparation. Fuelled by rum and Club Mate we got raucous with Carpenter Brut, SNAYX and Mad Caddies before a brief interlude from Paul Hardcastle and Lindsey did a Slipknot minimix. This was a really fun show and I loved the change of dynamic that having a co-host brought, more of this please!

UK IV – Blues, Slide Guitar, AI Chatup Lines and ACIIIID!

We began this week with a slinky introduction courtesy of Otis Redding, Booker T and Fela Kuti. Boney M. gave way to Tom Waits and Eels and we plunged into a lovely, messy slide guitar blues orgy led by Seasick Steve and wholeheartedly perpetuated by 7horse and Les Claypool. We spoke about the super tanker in the Suez and AI chatup lines before getting entirely squelchy courtesy of my brand new TD-3, Microlith and Fat Boy Slim. We ended the show with a cover of ‘Wake Me Up’ by Russkaja in a wonderful fanfare worthy of a Friday night.

UK III – Dubby Treats, Nostalgia and ‘Nam

We kicked off with Fat Boy Slim (who confirmed he was fucking in heaven) and a little bit of a Big Beat flex before The Go! Team led us bravely into upbeat brassy climes. We continued the march and before long ended up in a lovely Dubby dalliance courtesy of Mungo’s Hi Fi and The Skints which concluded with a skank over to the Ska side of town where we caught King Prawn, Sonic Boom Six and Capdown engaged in an energetic tussle. After some nostalgia Killick and VJ suggested some ‘nam war rock, to which I was happy to oblige, and we finished the show in a floaty, guitar laden smoke fest. It was pretty intense. If you’re here to catch up then you weren’t there man…

UK II – Locked Down and Without a Van

**Skip to 17:00 to avoid mic issues**

I’m still back in the UK and without my van but that doesn’t stop the music. In this show I begin with some upbeat fast and furious funkery from the likes of Neon Baby and Love the System. Sean Costello provides us with a very welcome segue into blues rock and we spend a bit of time exploring the depths of Sludge driven stoner rock before The Black Queen and Cobra Man guide us into a glorious synthy crescendo. Very Friday. Very Fun.

Sardinia III

Coming out from the rather windy shores of Southern Sardinia, in the midst of a biblical storm, the show much continue! In true TYSM style we bounce from Souls of Mischief to Dire Straights bothering BULCH and The Roots on the way past. I tell of my unfortunate beach happening and console myself with Look Mum No Computer quickly followed by John Hopkins. Despite the wind the van didn’t blow over and TYSM Radio lives to fight another day.

Sardinia II

The second completely off-grid show that I’ve done and the second from the beautiful isle of Sardinia. We blitzed from the laid back sonic flavours of Floating Points and DJ Format to a powerful and raucous folk-blast from OMNIA. I got really into the sounds of Grove and we finished on one of the new tracks from System of A Down. Come and get stuck in, there’s plenty to go around!

Sardinia I

This is the first show that I’ve done completely off-grid and just using mobile data. It was also the longest show I’ve ever done! I had a multi- camera setup (my phone was in a tree) streaming live video and it was a whole lot of fun. We started with the funkalicious flavours of the Ohio Players and John Lee Hooker. We zig-zagged into Nicolas Jaar and then boldly into Eli and Fur before exploring the sounds of chiptune with Mind in a Box and Dan Terminus. Part two of the show ramps up and gets rowdy. Sleaford Mods collide with Distillers making a delicious noisy cocktail fit for a Saturday night.
